Product design

Cd stand

'inside-out lamp’, a glowing cube, with cellophane panels, and a star cut out of the top. When the inner star (wth the bulb inside) is lifted out, the light is diffused through the top portal.

'Raisin promotion packaging’, pods and roll-up wraps

concept idea art

Pencil, acrylic, watercolour ‘Fractured- face’, with reference to my face, in a fractured mirror, i tried to captivate the element of terror, which ’shatters’ the glass by the screams

Pencil, water ‘wollen nails’, an exercise to illustrate the contrast between hard and soft materials.

Biro, ‘Apples’, a portrait of a still-life , entirely made up of my initials ‘M.R’

Acrylic on paper ‘Branded British’, this piece was intended to convey the stereotypic views people have of each other; we may not wear badgers, or all have an umbrella with our flag, but as a human race we recognise the people of our country

Early art, final pieces

Colour tone ‘Etnies’, the ‘carrying’ of colour can enhance an image with the use of contrast.

Charcoal, A study on a famous piece of ‘Jesus’

Hb Pencils, ‘Perspective of self’, sometimes the most challenging projects are self-portraits.

Acrylic ‘Roy’s Film’, with respect to Roy Lichtenstein’s works, i created a piece of interwoven film strips, which include illustrations of his work... but in addition, i have continued or drawn the previous frames.

Acrylic on Board ‘Embrace’, with my project title, i decided to relate to the embrace of harmony- using photographic images of models of diverse races, indian, african and british, i tried to capture the element of uniting all nations in the simple human- expression of a ‘hug’. (Additionally illustrated by the synonyms projected on her back)

Mixed media projects 2

Relief print ‘Web’, illustrating a photo of webs, crystallised with dew. The print’s effect was acquired by raised glue layered onto board

Textiles ‘Planets and space’, interpreting an impressionist image with abstract compositions, using paints, textures, inks and printing foam.

Cut-out print ‘Rose’, the image is cut out then each piece is coloured individually to obtain depth from a 2D print, and the blood of an ageing rose

Mixed media projects

Clay ‘dramatic pose’

Clay ‘Anthropomorphic character’ - A Beer bottle expressing the average ‘boozer’ : drunk, tatoos, scarred and smoking

Wood print ‘Red bull can’, after taking some striking photos, i found this image conveyed the strongest impact, in relation to the layering process when applying the colour tones.

Etching plate ‘Embracing arms’, i found to work with the authentic effects of an etching print, it was best to produce an image which would use the potential of the inky, worn result.

Clay ‘A blooming flower, in 3 stages'
